Below are the guidelines for using the Education & Childcare channel.

1. Channel Purpose

• This channel covers a wide range of education and childcare topics: Childcare / Kinder, Primary School, High School, University / TAFE / Language Schools, Tutoring / OC / Selective schools, Parenting information, Kids’ products, Playgroups & Activities, Babysitter / Au pair, School district & school reviews, and more.

• Our aim is to build a community where parents, prospective parents, students, and anyone interested in education/childcare can share experiences, exchange information, ask questions, and give advice.

2. Basic Principles

• Respect & Consideration: This forum includes members with diverse backgrounds and circumstances. Please show respect for each other’s situations, opinions, and choices.

• Accurate & Responsible Information: Distinguish between facts and personal opinions. When sharing important info — e.g. enrollment procedures, costs, government subsidies, regulations — include sources or cite official information if possible.

• Privacy Protection: Do not share sensitive personal information about yourself or others (e.g. children’s or members’ names, photos, contact info, addresses).

You may post:

• Parenting tips, recommendations for kids’ items, babysitter/au-pair resources, playgroup or activity reviews and suggestions.

• School district reviews, school comparisons, admission tips, commute information, neighborhood and lifestyle reviews.

• Homework, tutoring, after-school activities, study-support tips, and personal learning experiences.

• Other useful education or childcare information, questions, or advice requests.

4. Prohibited Content & Behavior

Do not post or support:

• False or exaggerated information (e.g. inflated reviews, unsubstantiated claims)

• Sensitive personal information of children or others (names, photos, contact, address, etc.)

• Advice promoting illegal or unethical childcare/education practices

• Discriminatory or hateful remarks (based on race, nationality, gender, religion, culture, etc.)

• Political agitation, extreme ideological debates, or provocations unrelated to education/childcare

• Commercial advertising, referral links, sponsorship solicitations, or profit-driven posts — forbidden without prior approval

• Spam, repetitive posts, flooding the board

• Sharing copyrighted content without permission (e.g. images, materials)

• Inappropriate, violent, or offensive content

5. Community Use Tips 💡

• Search before posting — check if your question or topic already exists.

• Provide detail — child’s age, desired location, school type, specific needs, etc., help others give better responses.

• Show appreciation — if someone helps, leave a “thank you” comment.

• Share follow-up outcomes — if you applied info from community or tried something based on advice, sharing results can help others.

• Share responsibly — cite sources when applicable; clearly separate personal opinions from factual information.
